MRR Note: This post was released a year ago this week about the costly strategic bombing experience in WWII Europe. Juxtaposed with this summer, we saw MIDNIGHT HAMMER - purported as a flawless execution of a long-range precision strike on Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities. The strategic bombing of MIDNIGHT HAMMER—a concept executed to near perfection—has its roots more than a century ago, born from the deadly stalemate of World War I trench warfare as a sharper way to wage war and hasten its end through precision strategic bombing. A heavy price was paid to develop these strategic bombing capabilities, which have become a critical component of armed conflict—but even at their most precise and powerful, they cannot secure victory alone.
